Just a note to let you know that 8th grade will be studying the genre of horror during the month of October.  Students should have chosen a book from the horror genre by now.  They may read R.L. Stein books, Edgar Allen Poe, Mary Shelly or any other author who writes in this genre.  A few students have asked me about Stephen King.  I'm leaving that decision up to you.  Personally, I think he's too much for our students.  After we read a horror book, we're going to be working closely with Mr. Clark, and writing original horror stories.  We will do character sketches, and illustrations of the setting of their original stories.
